ENPLAN maintains over 1,000 square miles of digital high resolution color aerial imagery in stock. Many growing areas of Northern California are covered. Same day delivery is available.
High Resolution. ENPLAN regularly acquires new proprietary aerial imagery for selected areas in Northern California. We do so at much higher resolutions than commercial bulk providers. We can deliver orthorectified imagery with resolutions as fine as 3 inch pixel off the shelf. All of our imagery is full 24 bit color.
Standard Resolution. ENPLAN maintains a complete archive of lower-resolution orthorectified imagery from government sources, such as USDA NAIP County Mosaics and USGS DOQQs. This imagery has a pixel resolution of 1 meter, and while it does not offer the detail of our in-house imagery, it is useful backdrop for small scale visualizations of larger areas.
Historical. Our imagery library includes historical aerial photography of the Redding area from 1978 and 1985 and other archival imagery collected by various Federal agencies over the years.
About Orthorectification
Orthorectification is a computerized process that converts orthogonal aerial imagery to a uniform scale, hence it is called orthoimagery. Optical distortion and perspective are removed, the image is set to a bearing, and real-world coordinates are assigned to each image pixel. Therefore, the real world location of any feature in the image can be instantly determined, distances and areas can be computed, and feature interrelationships can be reliably interpreted.
Because an orthoimage accurately represents ground feature locations, dimensions and relationships, it is extremely useful in all stages of project planning and design as well as other activities such as resource management and municipal facilities management. A major benefit of orthoimagery is that it embodies far more information than the symbolic planimetric abstractions of typical maps. An orthoimage shows everything that is there to be seen, from built feature details to vegetation characteristics and patterns of land use.
Using Our Orthoimagery
ENPLAN's in-stock orthoimagery is available immediately. It is fully compatible with any software that is geospatially enabled such as AutoCAD Map 3D or Arc GIS. It can also be delivered in JPEG or other formats compatible with standard graphic software. Such imagery can easily be inserted directly into reports, brochures, web sites, print ads, email. Available on CD/DVD, via internet or in printed form, most orders are delivered within hours. Our staff can also compile maps and other aerial visualizations annotated to client specifications which are typically delivered as PDFs or prints.
